What traditions have you not kept that your parents had?
The traditions that have not been kept from parents often vary by family, culture, and region. However, some common examples include:
1. Culinary Traditions: Many families have seen a decline in traditional cooking practices and recipes, often replaced by convenience foods and dining out.
3. Festivals and Celebrations: Traditional ways of celebrating holidays and festivals may change or be abandoned.
2. Language: In multicultural families, heritage languages may not be passed down, leading to a loss of linguistic diversity.
4. Crafts and Skills: Handicrafts, sewing, knitting, woodworking, and other skills once passed down through generations are less commonly taught and practiced.
5. Storytelling and Oral Histories: The tradition of sharing family stories and oral histories can diminish, especially with fewer in-person gatherings and the rise of digital communication.
6. Respect for Elders: In some cultures, traditional respect and care for elders may diminish as lifestyles and family structures change.
In conclusion, these shifts reflect broader societal changes, emphasizing the importance of intentional efforts to preserve and adapt cherished traditions for future generations.

Beautifully written. I always like my Bengali tradition like wearing saree but due to time consuming we only wear saree occasionally. Some ladies don’t wear saree. This I miss.
